Myth, Mystery and Magic

The Secret Inside.

My latest novel is now out and available for purchase  from this site as well as most major online retailers as well as all good bookshops.

It has been a number of years in the writing but well worth it for I am pleased with the result.

I often write books that are dark fantasy and even recently a gothic ghost story (though set in the present day) but this is my first foray into the horror market in the strictest of terms for this novel is all about fear. From our silliest little phobias, like my own personal fear of spiders, to real palpable and dramatic fear. Fear of death, of maiming, of starvation, of the dark and many other things. Do not be fooled by the humorous start to the novel nor the early romance for it quickly thereafter becomes a dark chiller. With some rather graphic scenes and a fair bit of violence. I think most people will love it but it is not for those easily offended or upset.

Everyone has "A Secret Inside", a place where no one goes, always hidden from others buried deep in the dungeons of their soul.
A perversion that they will not admit to, a longing to take someone's life.
A lust that lies unfulfilled, a wish to dominate, A desire to humiliate and humble.
Sometimes these thoughts haunt their dreams, sometimes their waking hours. It comes crawling up from the darkest depths of their being, rising from its lair to hurt and damage, destroy and maim.

A new life together and a fresh start welcome Mae and Rob to their new home in Argyll. In the Heartland of historical Scotland and they settle in to enjoy the happy home that they have always wanted. But there is something unusual about their new home and whilst Rob seeks answers to the puzzles surrounding them Mae looks to secure her sanity and make this the dream home that she has always wished for.

Robs tantrums, educated Rats, deluded Nurses, stuffed birds and ancient gods that want to live again stand in her way but Mae will have her Idyllic home no matter who or what she has to kill to get it.

Darkly Humorous and deeply foreboding this devilish entertainment conjured from the mercurial mind of Raymond Walker will leave you wondering what dark and dangerous Secrets lie within people that you pass in the street, all those that you meet and even your closest friends.

For everyone has "A Secret Inside"
