Marathon, Thermopylae and the fate of the west.

This is Conn Iggulden doing what he does best, combining historical fiction with heroic fiction. I found this novel a treat (especially after slating "Dunstan" and not being impressed with "The Sword Saint") it is great to see a fantastic "Historical fiction"writer back to his best. Here the focus is on Athens. Themistocles and Xanthippus and the sea battles to save Athens more than the land battles, Leonidas and the 300, though they appear (after all an important part of the tale) take second seat, Unusual in the extreme. Marathon is perfectly and bloodily portrayed. Another cracker from Mr Iggulden. If historical fiction is your thing then this is the real deal. A tad educational as well as a great read.

What’s New With Raymond Walker

May the first 2026 will see the release of "The Dark Kind" . a dark Faerie Tale. The River Tales have been going on for almost twenty years and May this year will see them all concluded in a very dranatic finale.

a completely new novel and an ending to all of the river tales.  It will be hearalded, Proclaimed and advertised as both the publishers and public are awaiting a conclusion to "The dead girl and the wandering tree".  Well this is it.

"Sad Green Eyes" will follow soon after. I hope. and a little while after that "The living room" though that may be twenty twentyseven.
