Under Dark Skies
This land is ancient, steeped in myth and history. Monsters, sleeping, wake. Ghosts stalk the land. Stories, legends, become real and even the warmest of loves can be shattered on the cold rock of Argyll. I woke one day, Under dark Skies, my hand on his belly, his taste on my tongue and knew that I would love him forever but sometimes forever does not last that long.
Under Dark Skies. A monstrously good read. Don’t make any assumptions. Five Stars. Anne Welsh. “The Corbie Times”
Under Dark Skies. Is all I hoped it would be. A great story. Authentic characters and history. Bernard Cornwall. Author. Historian.
Under Dark Skies we live, Under Dark Skies we wake and sleep and Under Dark Skies we die.
The Dark Kind.

I have been working on this novel on and off for years. I have an idea to draw together all of the "River Tales" in a haunting finale.
All those tales told down the years coming to a climax in one shattering novel. The River Girl, The Moonchild, The River Sprite, The Faerie Queene, Mae, The Dread, the barrows of the dead. The Stromkarl. Rob and the children from "The Dead girl and the wandering tree". All coming together in a wondrous finale to that long and varied series of tales.
Along with "Winters Ghost" and " Cornelius" A pale shadow Creeps has always been my Achilles heel. A good idea for a writer like me. Few characters lots of space to let my imagination flow but it did not really work.
I was working hard, had little time and so rather than, sensibly, delaying publication I went ahead and published a half formed book. I intend to rewrite the whole thing when I have time. Now retired and with only one other novel to finish (the Dark Kind) I suspect that unless I die first I will have time to make this the novel I wished it to be.
