I was asked; Has the writing quality in a novel, show, or comics series you’ve read or watched noticeably improved as it went along?

I suspect that there are many answers to this question but the one that jumps into my mind instantly is “The Dark Tower” by Stephen King. The very first book, “The Gunslinger” written by Mr. King whilst still at University is a dusty fantasy western.
Whilst enjoyable and worth a read it does not reach the standard of many of the other books in this series. “The Drawing of the Three”, the second book is a little longer and more engaging.
Mr. King, then, took a break from the series and returned a fully formed and clever writer having produced many wonderful works in-between “The drawing of the Three” and “The Waste Lands”.
“The Waste Lands”, however, saw Mr. King wallowing in the height of his storytelling abilities, playing all and every character to their utmost and leaving you with a page turner of a tale. He continued in this vein through each book, each better than the one before until the last. “The Dark Tower”. I know that a few people did not enjoy the conclusion but I thought it an apt way to finish a marvelous series of novels each and everyone enjoyable in their own right.
You can see in each and every novel Mr. King's abilities and experience improving. Honing his art. Each, more professional, cleverer, more accomplished than those preceding it.
A wonderful series of novels.
