The Long War by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter

Far superior to the first outing in this series, “The Long War” is is a glorious read. Very entertaining, clever and believable (in a sci-fi way). I suspect that it was written mostly by Mr Baxter and that he echoed “Terry’s” writing rather convincingly. I had not even finished the book when I ordered the next in the series. Yes, that good.

Convincing and “real” characters, scenarios believable if (sci-fi) stretched. For me this was a fascinating and entertaining read, clever, well written and far superior to the first novel in the series. I suspect that Mr Baxter did the heavy lifting but who can tell. Great stuff.

What’s New With Raymond Walker

Mid May 2025 will see the release of "The Pale Shadow" . An unusual ghost story. Raymond wishes this to be a quiet release as it follows the story of an earlier (deleted) book that he wished to improve.

"The Dark Kind" will follow before the end of this year (2025) a completely new novel and an ending to all of the river tales.  It will be hearalded, Proclaimed and advertised as both the publishers and public are awaiting a conclusion to "The dead girl and the wandering tree".  After that will come "Sad Green Eyes" around may 2026. Then...who knows.
