The strange joy of Literature.

I love a book that I must put down every few pages to consider what I have read. Normally for me books are a soft summer breeze, a joy. So, when one cuts me, challenges me, hurts me; so clever, I find it hard to follow. To me that is a scalpel of joy. A cutting joy. and it is rarely I am challenged in such a way. Liu Cixin did it with "The Three Body Problem", "Blindsight" by Peter Watts. "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte and "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier did likewise as did every book by William Peter Blatty. (lol- I just wished to suggest it is not all about science fiction). Most books, whilst enjoyable, are "also ran's" I suspect most of mine are too. It is wonderful to find something exceptional.

It is rare that we do.

What’s New With Raymond Walker

Mid May 2025 will see the release of "The Pale Shadow" . An unusual ghost story. Raymond wishes this to be a quiet release as it follows the story of an earlier (deleted) book that he wished to improve.

"The Dark Kind" will follow before the end of this year (2025) a completely new novel and an ending to all of the river tales.  It will be hearalded, Proclaimed and advertised as both the publishers and public are awaiting a conclusion to "The dead girl and the wandering tree".  After that will come "Sad Green Eyes" around may 2026. Then...who knows.
