Kirkus, once book publishers and reviewers extrodinare are still going. Whoring the remains of a once noble business out to make a penny or two, but they still have some traction, It's true, but paying for reviews is silly. They are recommending shit books instead of books that are worth reading (as long as you have money).
I am sorry but I would never be associated with such a company. They personify everything that is wrong with writing right now.
You are a great writer if you pay us loads of money. You are a shit writer if you are unwilling to pay us. (A "true?" decider of quality)
I feel sorry for those taken in by the Kirkus scam. Sorry for going on. I do not like the idea of those with the most money winning. That is what Kirkus represents.
The capitalist dream can be wonderful at times but when you get down to the grubby bottom of it... Well. There is slime. Pond Scum. Feces and Kirkus wallow in it.
Who knows if I am a good or bad writer. Not me or you, only my readers. Kirkus says that you are a good writer only if you have money. My ethics are awkward and vague but that is NOT right. Sorry. I could never sell myself so low.
Sorry.
