It is rare that Conn Iggulden disappoints when writing Historic Fiction. he does NOT disappoint here. Quite the contrary. This is an excellent novel, well worked and well written, it proceeds with a pace that cannot help but draw you into the story. Here we are looking at the possible downfall of Henry the sixth and Margaret of Anjou (his French bride) during the Wars of the Roses. This is a rip roaring read from a master of Historical Fiction. The action is relentless, the story as close to history as is possible to maintain such a wonderful narrative. Fans of David Gemmell, Joe Abercrombie, Steven Pressfield and Nigel Tranter will love this.
